Bro. Clayton Griggs
Rev Clayton Griggs and his wife Tammy came to the First Baptist Okemah family in October 2018. Bro. Griggs brings more than 30 years of ministry experience, having served churches in Arkansas, Texas, and Oklahoma. Native Oklahomans the Griggs' are excited to serve the people of Okfuskee County. Bro Clayton is an avid sports fan, who also enjoys running and playing golf. Tammy is employed with Tulsa Public Schools as an Instructional Mentor. Bro. Clayton and Tammy have been married for more than 30 years and are proud parents of 1 daughter, Haley, who lives in Tulsa.
Bro. Clayton has a true love for God's Word and a passion to see God's church grow and fulfill the Great Commission.
Bro. Anthony Landers
Bro. Anthony Landers and his wife Vickie have been a part of the First Baptist family for more than 15 years. Anthony has been serving the youth of the community through his position at FBC for 13 years. Anthony is a lifelong resident of Okemah who takes great pride in his service to the community, where he also serves as a member of the city council.
Anthony is a wonderful father, in the process of raising 9 kids. With 9 children and a full-time job in management for Wall-Mart, Anthony stays very busy. Vickie works for the city of Okemah, They have 4 children who are grown and out of the house, with 5 more at home, ranging from college students to 6th grade.
Anthony has a passion to see the youth of the community have a place to grow in their knowledge of the Lord and a place where they can deal with life’s struggles in a positive way.
Bro. Simmon Harjo
Simmon Harjo joined First Baptist Church of Okemah in May 2010 and became the Bi-Vocational Children's Minister later that Fall. He was called to salvation when he was 5 years old, during Indian Falls Creek, and attending Greenleaf Missionary Baptist Church, west of Okemah. Simmon is an ordained Baptist minister and was called to ministry in the summer of 1999, also at IFC. He pastored 2 Native American churches before returning to Okemah to serve. Simmon is also a high school math teacher and coach at Okemah Public Schools.
Simmon grew up and graduated from high school in Tulsa, OK in 1991. He received his Bachelors Degree in Math Education from East Central University in 2013.
Family: married to wife, Tina, since 1993. 4 biological children and 1 bonus child: Acee, Rayna, Grace, Caleb (CD), and Makhan, as well as one granddaughter, Brileigh.
In his past time, Simmon loves to spend time with his family or watching the Okemah Panthers and Lady Panther compete in different competitions.

Celebrate Recovery Minister
Bro. Chuck Smith
Chuck Has been in church leadership for 20 years. He is married and have 6 wonderful children and a great wife and soul mate! They have nine children who they love very much. They have lived in several states during my career as a Maintenance Manager and PSM Coordinator. He loves to hunt and fish and watch his grandchildren compete in sports activities.
He has served in church leadership in several different roles such as, President of the church board, Vice President of the church board, Treasurer, Youth pastor, and Associate pastor. He is currently the Minister of Celebrate Recovery at First Baptist Okemah.

Shannon has been married to my loving husband, Chuck, since 1992. They have six children and nine grandchildren. They moved to Oklahoma in 2015. We became members of First Baptist Okemah in January 2016 and she was employed as the church secretary in April 2016.
She has served in Church Ministry and leadership for more than 20 years. her service includes SundaySchool teacher, Wednesday night bible class teacher, youth ministry, education Director, church treasurer, Women's ministry, nursery director, sound system, and church secretary.
Here at First Baptist Okemah in addition to serving as the church Secretary, She also serves in the Ground Floor Missions and Celebrate Recovery Ministry. I am an active member of the Praise and Worship team and the church choir.
At Ground Floor missions, she primarily work in the intake room. I get to help process our communities' donations as that they make it to the proper rooms for distribution.
At Celebrate Recovery, I am on the leadership team. I can be found in the kitchen serving meals, at the sound booth, helping to lead music, assisting in the open share groups, and training participants int he areas that they would like to serve.
Shannon is a grateful believer in Jesus Christ whose desire is to see others come into relationship with Christ. She reminds herself often that I will never look into the eyes of someone whom God does not love.
Minister of Music
Jan has been married to her husband Mark for over 30 years. They has been blessed with 2 sons, Robbie and Josh.
Jan Maples is currently the team leader of the Music and worship team at First Baptist Church of Okemah. She has served in that position for almost 10 years with the help of wonderful, dedicated music and worship team members and other church volunteers. Jan serves as the "First Choir"director for adults and youth. She has been a member of church choirs for over 30 years. Mrs. Maples is also active on the Praise Team and Ladies Ensemble. When needed, she is the pianist, keyboardist, or organist during services and special events.
Jan is also part of the Celebrate Recovery Leadership Team where she serves as one of the worship leaders and small group leaders.
Through the years, Jan has served in church clown and puppetry ministries and has assisted with youth chiors. She was Vacation Bible School director at First Baptist Church Okemah for 17 years and has been a member of the North Canadian Baptist Association VBS Training Team. In the past, she has been a Sunday school teacher and VBS Teacher for various age groups.
